  • You support a low-income student from 5th through 12th grade. You may choose to support them only for 1 year; TEF ensures 7 years of support. 

  • You endow students in Turkey with academic knowledge, personal growth, and professional opportunities. 

  • You empower girls, break the cycle of poverty, and contribute to each child’s universal right to education.

  • 100% of your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent of the U.S. law; TEF is a 501(c)(3) organization registered with the IRS.

WHEN YOU FUNDRAISE FOR TEF

NO GIFT IS TOO SMALL

No dollar amount is too small to make a difference. Give as much as you are able to.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT

We provide 10-month scholarships for each students every year. On average, a gift of $250 supports one low- income student for 10 months. For the school year 2022/2023, we supported a total of 2,260 students across Turkey.

RECOGNITION LEVELS

We recognize donors at the following levels:

- Hope (Umut): up to $250 

- One Candle (Bir Mum): $250

- New Moon (Yeni Ay): $2,500

- Sun (Güneş) $25,000

HOW TO FUNDRAISE FOR TEF

  • Register for a free, no-cost AmazonSmiles account and direct 0.5% of your eligible Amazon purchases to TEF.
    We are registered as a non-profit with Amazon Smile program. If you shop on Amazon, please identify “Turkish Educational Foundation” as your charity at http://smile.amazon.com. For more information, please watch this YouTube tutorial and sign up for AmazonSmiles at this link. When you shop, Amazon will transfer 0.5.% of your purchase value to TEF at no additional cost to you. Furthermore, when you go through one of the supported browser extensions (e.g.: Amazon Assistant for Chrome), you are automatically routed through the Amazon Smile page so your contribution to TEF is fully automated.

  • Host a Facebook Fundraiser and direct the proceeds to TEF at no cost to you.
    TEF donors organize birthday fundraisers on Facebook; some offer to match collected donations. Facebook transfers 100% of the proceeds to TEF via Network For Good. To organize a FacebookFundraiser, please follow the instructions at this link. Please make sure to choose “Fundraise for a Non-Profit” and identify “Turkish Educational Foundation” as the benefiting charity. 

 

  • Host a fee-based event and donate the proceeds to TEF.
    TEF members organize cook outs, art sessions, concerts, hikes or walking tours in their city in order to bring their friends together to support TEF’s mission. They then donate the proceeds via NetworkForGood or by mailing a check to TEF. To brainstorm possible ideas or for further questions, please contact turkisheducationalfoundation@gmail.com.
