Our Youth Leader program provides an opportunity for U.S.-based youth to connect with their cultural roots, create global impact, and strengthen cultural connections between the U.S. and Turkey.
Ece Genc is a junior at Cupertino High School (class of 2022). She enjoys learning about math and sciences, and has been volunteering at TEF-YLG for two years to help more children have access to education and opportunities to enjoy learning. She does visual arts.
Lara Cetin, 15, is a sophomore at Los Gatos High School. This is her second year volunteering for TEF-YLG and is very excited to help children have access to education. In her free time, she rows 6 days a week and enjoys learning math and new languages.
Kayra Cetin is currently a senior at Los Gatos High School. This is her third year volunteering and working for TEF-YLG. She is excited to help more children have the opportunity to pursue education in Turkey. Outside of school, Kayra does rowing and loves taking photos and learning new languages.
Bora Koyuncuoglu, 15, is a sophomore at Haker High School. This is his first year volunteering For TEF-YLG and is looking forward to helping children pursue learning and education in Turkey. In his free time, Bora likes to play water polo, swim, and play video games.
Selin Aras is currently a senior at The Harker School. This is her third year volunteering for TEF-YLG; she is looking forward to helping more children have the opportunity of an education. She enjoys learning about science and foreign languages as well as playing tennis and debating Lincoln-Douglas style.
Ebru Haritaoglu, 16, is a junior at Palo Alto High School and this is her third year volunteering for TEF-YLG. She enjoys working with animals and does theatre outside of school. She can’t wait for another year of working to help kids have access to better education.
Esin Demiray is a junior at Mountain View High School. This is her third year volunteering for TEF-YLG, and she is excited to continue helping children pursue education and learning opportunities. She spends her free time reading and travelling with family, and she enjoys learning about history and science.
Deniz Yaralioglu is currently a junior at Los Altos High School and works with TEF on the TEF website. Deniz loves working with TEF because it allows him to help children in Turkey have access to a better education.
